Islamic Boarding School   Sheikh Abdul Aziz Islamic Boarding School Koto Hilalang where the students studied various classical books written by the scholars of the Syafi‟iyyah school, the Yellow Book was studied every year. classes, ranging from Seventh grade to Twelfth grade. and the purpose of this study is to describe how the implementation of the yellow book learning in the Islamic boarding school of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Koto Hilalang. This study uses a qualitative approach, while the research method is descriptive. The subject of this research is the Islamic boarding school students of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Koto Hilalang , 53 students who are divided into three grade levels in the 2020 and 2021 academic years taught by 13 ustadz and ustadz who have the appropriate knowledge with their respective fields. Meanwhile, in analyzing the data used are data classification and data interpretation. While the results of the study showed that the Yellow Book learning plan at the Islamic Boarding School of Sheikh Abdul Aziz Koto Hilalang was carried out in a structured and collective manner coordinated by the head of the Islamic boarding school Sheikh Abdul Aziz Koto Hilalang through meetings attended by all levels of teachers at the beginning of each semester. The method used by the teacher in the classroom to teach the Yellow Book to the Santri is to use the Qawaid Wa Tarjamah method. This method is used on the basis of the number of students at the Sheikh Abdul Aziz Koto Hilalang who are still not fluent in reading Arabic well. There are several aspects that become the criteria for student success in studying the Yellow Book, the first is the ability to read the Yellow Book correctly, which is of course in accordance with the nahwu and shorof rules. The ability of students to read the Yellow Book is an important part that must be evaluated. For this reason, the yellow book reading test is included in the student's oral exam at the end of each semester, in addition to the memorization test or the yellow book memorization.
